Youth Climbing

  • Can youth climb at the cove?

    Yes! Bouldering is a fun and engaging activity for youth. Please review the Rules for Youth Climbers before booking your first visit.

  • Rules for youth climbers

    Youth climbers are very welcome, but the following youth rules apply:

    • Youth aged 18 and under must have a waiver completed by a parent (or a legal guardian).

    • Youth aged 12 and under must be supervised at all times.

    • Youth aged 9-12 must be supervised at a 1:2 ratio.

    • Youth aged 6-8 must be supervised at a 1:1 ratio.

    • 6 is our minimum age for entering the climbing area.

    • All climbers and supervisors must complete a bouldering orientation upon their first visit.

    • Supervisors must be 16 or older, cannot climb while supervising and must have their own completed waiver.

  • Youth Bouldering Program

    The Cove Youth Program offers fun and comprehensive climbing instruction to youths from ages 9 to 18.

    Designed for kids and teens, this junior climbing program combines the thrill of bouldering with expert instruction to foster physical fitness, problem-solving skills, and self-confidence in youth.

    With a range of activities in a supportive environment and passionate coaches, your young ones can develop a lifelong love for climbing and its community.

  • Trusted Youth pass

    We allow select youth below the age of 13 to climb without supervision, and some supervisors to climb and supervise.

    This privilege is only granted to experienced climbers who we have observed display a pattern of maturity and responsibility.

  • Groups

    We have offerings for small groups of up to 10 climbers. Click here for more information.

  • Younger Children

    All ages are welcome in our cafe!

    We have limited services for youth ages 6-8, and no climbing for youth 5 and under.
