FAQ

  • What is bouldering?

Bouldering is a form of rock climbing that takes place on shorter walls (12-16 feet). Climbers fall directly off the walls and onto a gymnastic-style flooring system.

Climbers don’t need ropes, harnesses, belay lessons, or even a partner to go bouldering!

Bouldering best showcases the range and variety of movement climbing offers. Bouldering is also an Olympic sport, and the competitions are fun to watch!

  • What do I need to get started?

    1. You will need to fill out our waiver before getting started.
Fill out our waiver online by clicking here.

    2. You will need to complete a bouldering orientation, which is a review of safety expectations, our rules and etiquette, and a tour of our facility.
      Book your orientation here.

    3. You will need climbing shoes, but don’t worry… we offer rentals!

  • Do I need to be strong to boulder?

Not at all! Bouldering can be as easy as climbing a ladder. People of all shapes and sizes can climb!

Climbing can be enjoyed casually or at a performance level. We have great coaches ready to help you progress!

Your climbing journey can be whatever you want it to be!

  • Do you have a gym?

Yes! We have a training area with various equipment (squat rack, hang boards, free weights, air bike, etc).

  • Any other cool climbing stuff?

We have a commercial 12×12 Kilterboard with adjustable wall angles.

Check out our KilterBoard overview page for more information.

  • Can Kids Climb?

Please visit our Youth Climbing Page for information and youth bookings.

  • Why do I need to do the bouldering orientation if I am an experienced climber?

It is important to our operations to have all of our customers are following the same rules and standards. We know that climbing gyms have vastly different expectations and levels of instruction, so we often get experienced visitors who are used to something entirely different. We find that the ~15 minute lesson is a great opportunity to meet you, quickly review our rules and etiquette, and do a quick culture check (if not also giving you new information along the way)!

  • Can I just walk-in to do an orientation without a booking?

We strongly prefer you book in advance, and we cannot gaurantee that we can accomodate you without a booking. That being said, we accomodate walk-in orientations whenever possible. The reason we typically require bookings is because we may just have one staff working who is responsible for the cafe, or we may be trying to prioritize members during peak traffic.

Try your luck with a walk-in if the booking times aren't suitable to your schedule, and feel free to call us if you're not sure!
